.:: PracticeModules
The core of these modules is drilling. While the Induction gives you a summary insight into self-defence, the Practice modules are where you are able to develop efficiency in practically applying the techniques introduced.
1. Strike Module This module should be the next taken after the Induction even if you take none of the other modules. In fact, the Induction and this module alone are enough for you to develop an adequate level of self-defence. This module introduces you in detail to the use of your hands and arms as a striking weapon and for defending yourself. This is achieved by drilling. You will develop a level of efficiency in closing and delivering effective and powerful strikes irrespective of your height or weight. As striking/punching comes easily to most people, it is advisable to become proficient with this approach before attempting the other modules.
2. Kick Module For those adept to kicking, this module takes you into more detail of the dynamics of kicking. You are not only shown how to practise and kick against an opponent (i.e. not against the air or a kick bag) but also taught how to defend against kicks.
3. Evasion Module The key principle here is:-
"if you are not there when the attack arrives, it does not matter how big or strong the attacker is".
Mastery of evasion techniques is the key to effective defence. The objective of the session is to introduce you to drills that will develop instinctive evasive reflexes.
4. Breakout Module This module introduces you to methods of escape from holds and grabs. You are shown how to use your opponent's weight and strength to your advantage. The module also introduces you to how to hold and grab effectively.
5. Subdue Module This module introduces you to escape from being held down on the ground and ground wrestling.
