Because Nippon Kempo has a scientific approach, it puts great emphasis on safety in training to avoid and minimise the common sports injuries to joints etc. As it is based on drilling, it is one of the most exhilarating ways of getting and staying cardio vascularly fit.
Nippon Kempo armour allows safe but realistic contact training. Your training is not a series of hypothetical choreographed moves. The most important aspect of defence is not so much physical but dealing with the fear and trauma of being attacked. Nippon Kempo probably is the only combat sports that makes it possible to overcome these by the use of armour and contact drilling.
